The Hindi Department was established in 1978 with Hindi Pass and MIL subject in erstwhile R D Women’s College. The department introduced the Under Graduate course in 1992 with 08 no of seats. The Post Graduate Course in Hindi was introduced in the year 1995 with 16 no. of seats which further increased to 40 then now it is 48. The R D (Auto) Women’s College upgraded into University in 2015 and then the M.Phil course was introduced in the year 2017.
The Department aims at providing basic knowledge in theories and issues that characterizes the studies of contemporary Hindi literature and language which may enhance the confidence level of the students for appearing NET,SET including various competitive exams. It also aims at fostering an atmosphere of learning where students would be able to strengthen their ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate the various forms of literary expressions along with improving their communication and creative skills in Hindi language.
