The Department of Hindi is one of the oldest departments of the institution with a glorious history of 45 years. It was established in 1978 with Hindi Pass and MIL subject in erstwhile Rama Devi Women’s College. The department introduced the Under Graduate course with Honours in 1990 with 08 nos. of seats which gradually increased to 48 nos. at present. The Post Graduate Course in Hindi was introduced in the year 1995 with 16 nos. of seats which further increased to 40 and presently it is 48. M.Phil course was introduced in the year 2017 and Ph.D. was introduced in the year 2019.
Department aims at fostering an atmosphere of learning where students would be able to strengthen their ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate the various forms of literary expressions along with improving their communication and creative skills in Hindi language and literature. Department also aims at providing guidance to the students to explore and excel in the various career prospectus.
