The mission of the Community Connect is to buildunderstanding among students around the community lives and livelihoods through their personal experience and connection, and make their efforts to enrich community critical resources and skills.Therefore, community outreach will develop the responsive citizens who can be the frontline workers for social change.
Rama Devi Women's University has taken up various causes for the benefit of society, building up in the process, a sense of community and teamwork among teachers, students, faculty and staff. It is committed to work towards Rama Devi’s ideals of nation building and aims to undertake developmental activities, research and training in community matters, such as education, sustainable development and environmental protection, gender equality, health and wellbeingand protecting and reviving our rich cultural and natural heritageetc.
Recent Activities
- Virtual workshop organized with the village stakeholders during COVID-19 lockdown periodThe online workshop has been organized in the month of April 2020 during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown period. The Sarpanch, Ward Member, Head Mistress, Swachha village group, Anganwadi worker, Asha Karmi, SHG members, village youth and some member of the Village Development Committee have participated in the workshop. The discussion was to gain community knowledge on the utilization of Sarpanch village development fund, community preparedness to accommodate 102 labour immigration and engaging school children through 'SikhyaSanjog' activities.
- The Student Volunteers Preparing Placards on various themes in both Odiya and Hindi language to use them for the awareness campaign on Ban Plastic, Sanitation and Hygiene, Stop violence and Atrocity against women and education for girl child December 2019-March 2020
- Swachha Community with Sanitation and Hygiene Campaign organized by the student volunteers of Rama Devi Women's University in cooperation with school students, teacher, Sarpanch and Ward Members for Andharua Village September 2019
- Awareness campaign organized by the UBA Student Volunteers of Rama Devi Women's University in September 2019 on Ban Plastic, Sanitation and Hygiene, Stop violence and Atrocity against women and education for girl child.
- Interaction with the Self-Help Group Members to understand the Socio-economic status of the community people and SHG business venture by the Unnat Bharat Abhyan Team of Rama Devi Women's University 2019-2020
- Student volunteers are preparing masks at their home and distributing among Bhubaneswar Slum area during the COVID-19 Pandemic
- Student Volunteers participated in "Mega Sea Beach Clean Activity" at Puri organized by Swachaata Campaign of Govt of Odisha September 2019
- RDWU Observed sesquicentenary Birth Anniversary of Mahama Gandhi 0n 1st October 2019 after a Swachha campus and ban plastic drive
- The resource persons imparted the gender sensitization training modules with lived experience and case study to the student participants of Maharshi Women's Degree Collage on Dt. 24.11.2019
