The life of the individuals and the nation cannot be uplifted without reaching out to community at large. With this aspect in mind and provide holistic input towards community RDWU has dedicated extension Activities based Cells. Extension activities in the neighbour hood community in terms of impact and sensitizing students to social issues and holistic development. This activity also helps in developing a sense of community engagement by encouraging girls students to provide social services to its local community or promote commitment to local and global sustainable development. The purpose of education is not just preparing the students to earn a living but more so to make them good citizens and above all good human beings. Values of caring and sharing with the under privileged are one of the important elements to be inculcated through education. It is our shared responsibility to empower the underprivileged to become self-reliant so that they can live with respect and dignity. RDWU encourages a lifelong journey of community service. It also strengthens civic responsibility and in volunteering.

The community connection cell in collaboration with the Health and Well Centre organise four days of awareness programmes at different sectors of the community to sensitize the stakeholder about the various vital issues of the society.
On 20th July 2023, a “painting as fun” activity was organised at Chetana Institute to encourage differently-abled children to express their inner ideas through painting. They have expressed their love for nature by drawing beautiful flowers, trees birds and sceneries and adding colours to these pictures. Really the Chetana Institute has done a commendable job by providing physical and moral support to the special children of different parts of the state.
On 21st July 2023 “Yoga as immunity booster” programme was organised by the said cell and centre at Adruta Children Homes which has been doing pioneering work in the held of rehabilitation of the children and taking care and protection since 1988 through institutional care and service. Their active participation in the programme and yoga performance reminds us that” girls can do wonders if they are given the right platform”.
On 22nd July 2023 the member of the community cell. And the counselling and wellness centre has organised one street play on “Menstrual Health and Hygiene “at Maa Mangala Slum, unit-9 of Bhubaneswar. The purpose of conducting this said play is to make the adolescent girls of the slums aware of their reproductive health and to lead a safe and secure menstrual health status. They will be able to protect themselves from the risk of HIV aids and reproductive tract infections.
On 24th July 2023 another awareness programme was conducted by the community connect to cell and the counselling and wellness centre at Shaeed Nagar High School. The programme was to educate the young minds about the concept of gender equality and to maintain their mental health and hygiene, adopting gender equality at each stage of life is to help them to build a gender-neutral society in future. Strong mental health will also create a positive vibration in their mindset through which they will be a responsible citizen in future.
