The Department of Sociology aims at training students to critically analyse the social environment in which they live and become self-aware and responsible citizens. We advance the field through innovative teaching, collaborative research, public and community engagements that promote knowledge, capability and socially responsible students. Teaching and research in the Department are supported by excellent infrastructure, a multi-media resource centre and a well-stocked library that enable students to enjoy a successful academic and social life.
The department offers Under Graduate courses and organize seminar, workshops, field visit and interactive sessions. Department is following the CBCS syllabus with a timely Mid-term and End- Term Examination System. Students are also engaged in the club activities, community services, NSS, NCC, Swachh campus drive and competitions, and take leadership roles in the society.
