RDWU@International

The RDWU International Cell was conceptualized in the year 2020. It fosters campus internationalization to facilitate educational programs abroad and promote international academic and research partnerships. RDWU@International is one stop contact for foreign students visiting Rama Devi Women’s University, Odisha. RDWU@International cell is actively involved in promoting international collaborative research and motivating students to apply for training and fellowships at International Institutes of repute. The International Office of RDWU carry out multiple awareness programs, webinars and facilitates visits by experts from US Consulate to impart training to prepare for Fulbright Fellowships in the US, DAAD scholarship in Germany and Commonwealth fellowships in the EU.

RDWU@International is geared up to offer socially-engaged and vocationally relevant joint and dual degree courses on areas of societal contemporary concerns with specific focus on sustainable livelihood and family studies, gender equality, human behavior and social issues, good health and well-being, peace studies, quality education, strong institutions and urban transition. In the STEM, women empowerment in advancing area of community safety and security through artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, marine bioengineering and waste management for sustainable development are of prime focus. RDWU@International is priming to develop blended mode courses as many women students are from underprivileged classes, which would foster work-integrated learning, greater employability and skilling, thus contributing to the inclusive growth of students, faculty and the institution as a whole. In the long run, Rama Devi Women’s University envisages to be one amongst the global hub of women leaders and entrepreneurs in South Asia through RDWU@International.

Achievements/Activities/Reports/Proceeding

  1. Department of Gender Studies and Department of Economics, Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Department of Anthropology, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA jointly offered a 10-week certificate program on “Global Classroom Course learning on Women in Politics - A Contemporary Perspective” in blended mode and student participants from both RDWU and UCSC successfully completed the course module.
  2. Public Engagement Specialist Mr. Salil Kader and Mr. Senthil Kumar, Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Consulate at Hyderabad visited Rama Devi Women’s University to discuss possible collaboration between two institutions and further expand it to new areas on 31.03.2022.
  3. Salil Kader, U.S Consulate, Hyderabad organized a meeting with RDWU officials on 28.06.2022, wherein Dr Himanshu Grover, Professor, University of Washington presented a proposed certificate course of 40hrs on 'Disaster Management' to be implemented as a value added course for students of Rama Devi Women’s University.
  4. Dillip Kumar Panda, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engieering, Clemson University, USA visited the campus and delivered a seminar talk on “Functional Materials for various energy Applications” on 19th April 2023 organized by RDWU@International cell in collaboration with Department of Physics and Chemistry, RDWU.
  5. An International MoU was signed between Hanseo University, South Korea and Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar on 15.09.2023 to foster strategic collaboration between two Universities in the area of science, humanities and cultural relations.
