FACILITIES & SERVICES

The Kuntala Kumari library has three floors with different sections.

i. Book Stack and Circulation Section:

The first floor of the library has a book stack which contains more than fifty thousand books including a wide range of very rich and rare collections of textbooks for use by its members (teachers, students and research scholars). There are two sections in the same floor which accommodate books from science and technology and Humanities and Social Sciences.


ii. Reference Section:

The second floor is devoted to the reference section. There are more than 5500 reference tools. Books from this section are not issued to any users. However, one can refer to any document in the reading room of the library, or they can get a photocopy of their required portion.


iii. Reading Room:

The second floor has a reading hall which is named as Sakuntala Panda Memorial Reading Room. It has 100 seating capacity for the users. The students can use study materials for reading. Previous year question papers are also available for reference. The section is open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on all working days.


iv. Journal Section:

The third floor is devoted to the journals. All the currently subscribed journals are displayed for reading and reference. More than fifty journals of various disciplines as well as twenty magazines along with ten newspapers in multiple languages are being subscribed by the University.


v. Theses & Report Section:

The third floor is used for keeping the research reports. All the PG dissertations submitted by the students are kept in this section. The donated theses are also available for reference. Bound back volumes of journals are also available in this section. There is also reading and reference facility in this section.


vi. E-Library:

The University e-library facility provide electronic accesses to myriads of open source as well as subscribed e-resources for use by the students and faculty members of the University. The e-sources currently has 9 computer systems. The Library has subscribed EBSCO & Science Direcet-Elsevier which is a huge database of e-journals, e-books, e-theses & dissertations, reports, etc. Ouriginal (URKUND), an anti-plagiarism tool is also available for similarity check. The users have been provided a list of open access resources which can facilitate research.


vii. Reprographic Section:

The Library has a reprographic facility. Users can get the facility of obtaining photocopies with nominal charges. Users can get a photocopy facility within the limit of copyright norms.


viii. Facility for Disabled Students:

The University Library has facilities for the disabled students. Physically challenged students can use the Library lift system. One section has been created in the library for the differently-abled students where the visually challenged 65 students can use the resources and services. Two computer systems are specially provided for this section who can use the digital information for use. There are 94 audio books for visually challenged students. The narrator JAWS software is available for these students.


ix. Audio Books for Visually Impaired Students
