Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (RDWU-CIIE)

About the Centre

The Rama Devi Women's University Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship (RDWU-CIIE) was instituted in June 2023 to address the rise in the potential of start-ups, fostering towards the motive of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India & Make in Odisha initiatives. The key responsibility of the centre is to promote an entrepreneurial ecosystem among the members of RDWU and its affiliated colleges. All stakeholders, inclusive of students, faculties, alumni, business houses, researchers, NGO's, Government & Non-Government entities are welcome to participate in RDWU-CIIE. RDWU-CIIE promotes entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into workable businesses through the interventions of incubation, mentorship, training, and knowledge sharing in every step of their entrepreneurial journey.

Objectives
  • To promote the entrepreneurial spirit through creative business models and paths, as well as training for aspiring business owners by RDWU-CIIE.
  • To conduct activities that help students at the RDWU campus and its affiliated colleges for employability, such as soft skills training, career counseling, bridging the Academia to Industry (A2I) gap, certification courses, and enrichment activities for students, alumni and faculties etc.

RDWU-CIIE, focuses on, overall growth of faculty and students by bridging the gaps between Academia and Industry through the following programs.
  • Development of soft skills
  • Academia to Industry (A2I) bridging
  • Generation of Student Employability Programme (GSEP)
  • Pursuit of Happiness Programme (PHP)
  • Employability Programme for Youth (EPY)
  • Futuristic Skills Prime and Employability & Soft Skills (FSPESS)
  • Awareness of Skill Development Programme (ASDP)

Vision

  • To educate the students and faculty regarding the technological advancement of skills for bridging the gap between industry and academia, across the university and its affiliated institutions, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial acumen through skill based industry specific programs.

Mission

  • To provide teachers and students with market-relevant skills for developing capacity with respect to both entrepreneurial and employability skills thereby creating a meaningful contribution to the society and nation.

Seminar On

Indian Immigrants Women Entrepreneurs in STEM Opportunities and Challenges: Few Reflections from My Journey
Organized by: Department of Business Administration (MBA) & Department of Commerce, Ramadevi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar

The Department of MBA & Dept. of Commerce in association with WEneurs Forum had organized a seminar on 29th August 2023 at 11:00 AM with the theme "Indian Immigrants Women Entrepreneurs in STEM Opportunities and Challenges: Few Reflections from My Journey". The main objective of the seminar was to give an insight of management as well as entrepreneurial skills sets along with learning aptitudes from real life challenges and opportunities leading towards development of entrepreneurial business acumen.

Dr. Sabat Kumar Digal, Coordinator MBA & HoD- Department of Commerce, RDWU gave the welcome address. The session began with the address by CEO, WEneurs Forum Mrs. Phalguni Prateev Mangaraj briefing on aspects of entrepreneurship and incubation facilitation provided by incubators for startup facilitation with special mention to women-based startups in which WEneurs plays a vital role in shaping entrepreneurial ecosystem in the society. The session was followed by the address of the Chief Speaker Ms. Neelima Misra, CEO - DaasTek, Co-Founder - ValueSeed, Angel Investor & Startup Advisor (Sweden & India). Ms. Misra, shared her experiences as a Women Entrepreneur conquering all challenges and opportunities as a part of strategic management skills and business acumen foresight. A total of 90 participants comprising of students (UG & PG) and faculty members from Department of Business Administration (MBA) and Department of Commerce attended the seminar. A spirit of learning, management pursuit along with self-motivation was reflected among students after the seminar.
