About the Lab

In order to meet the ever changing and the challenging needs of corporate environment, it is not just sufficient for students to be theoretically sound; they must also be exposed to the external world in a dynamic way to face practical situations. Business Lab aims at stressing the importance of practical application of knowledge gained through theory. It helps students and staff members to keep abreast of the latest developments in the Business World.

The Business Lab is a new concept, wherein students practice their theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. They can carry on more and more experiments. Mock Commerce and Business activities can also be undertaken in laboratory. By this method of learning, students will get practical exposure of the processes, procedures and practices followed by the organization in conducting commercial practices/ businesses and expose the students with all forms/ formats/ formalities. It will also improve the reasoning and analytical abilities of the students. Further, students will be aware of the availability and applicability of various documents in their day to day routine activities. This Lab will be helpful to prepare the students to fulfil the requirements of industry and business.

Considering the importance of practical exposure in Commerce and Business education, the Department of Commerce, Rama Devi Women’s University has established Business Lab in the Department on 05 October, 2023.

The Business Lab of the Department is committed to setting a high standard for business education by imparting students the practical knowledge of business, commerce, banking, and finance to meet the changing needs of the business world and to produce market-oriented professionals.

Mission

To highlight the importance of high-quality education and a solid grounding in business and commerce principles so that students can succeed and develop analytical abilities that are crucial in the field of commerce.
To establish an industry-academia interface for generating futuristic opportunities for the students in diverse areas of finance, commerce, and banking.
To enhance academic achievement so that top-tier professionals can develop their leadership, teamwork, and business skills in order to face the challenges of the business world.
To accelerate the advanced learning process using state-of-the-art facilities.

Activities

Students are engaged in filling up the Income Tax forms, GST forms, etc. and Tax Practicing Consultants are invited for imparting practical knowledge with latest information.
Online Stock Exchange activities are shown to the students by which they can understand the mechanism of share market.
Mock meetings, interviews, group discussions, problem solving, negotiations, etc. are conducted in the Lab. This will facilitate them to develop communication, participation and presentation skills.
Activities involving role-playing as the marketing manager, management consultant, meetings coordinator, and facilitator of discussions are performed.
Non-commerce students and the public are invited to Business Lab to understand business transaction.
