In 28th February 2023, with reference to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha Letter No. HE-UNE-MISC-0004-2022, 8936/ HE, Dt: 28/02/2023, the approval for setting up of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre of Excellence in Rama Devi Women’s University was made in collaboration with IIT, Bhubaneswar and NITKAL, Japan. Initially, a sum of 8.75 Cores was approved for implementing the same that doesn’t include the GST.
Later, a sum of 1.575 Cores was approved towards 18% GST with reference to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha Letter No. HE-UNE-MISC-0004-2022, 41716/ HE, Dt: 27/09/2023. So, the total approved budget for the setting the AI & Robotics CoE is Rs. 10.325 Crores.
The MoU for the setting of centre was done between IIT, Bhubaneswar and Rama Devi women’s University was made on 28th March 2023, where both parties agree to bring together their respective expertise, skill and resources.
Initially, it is aimed to train in two batches: One for Computer Science branch students and the other for Non-Computer Science branch students of the University and later it will be extended to other students of the University.

To up skill the students towards the AI and Robotics knowledge which is one of the current industrial requirement.
To open more job opportunity for the students in the domain of AI and Robotics and promote self-employment, empowerment of women.
To create computer skilled workforce in the field of AI and Robotics from the University to meet the demands of various Government jobs, industries and boost economic growth.
To enhance the opportunities for one to be among all in every field of competitive world using AI and Robotics knowledge.

To empower women students about AI and Robotics knowledge towards self-employment and industry orientation.
To develop qualities essential to make students proficient in the two most vital feminine concerns of the modern times: home and career.
