About Department

The Department of Home Science laid its genesis since the inception of this premier institute in 1964 upgraded to university 2015 and currently, it has 08 faculty members, a demonstrator and a lab attendant. Nearly 155 students are continuing their studies in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees. The department introduced five value added course and also lunched the Certificate course in disability studies for the academic session 2022-23. Nearly 145 students joined as the first batch. In this academic session one add-on course is also offered for PG 2nd year students. In which around 30 students enrolled in the said programme. The department introduced M.Sc. Home Science in Post graduation programme. The department organizes seminars regularly. Being an interdisciplinary field, the scope of research extends to many areas with the passage of time. The new advancement in science and technology and management equips young learners better to deal with the changing social and economic environment and also meet the challenges of the 21st century. There are around 15 numbers of research scholars enrolled for this academic session 2022-23.
